Chapter 5 Working with Projects

COPYING AND MOVING PROJECT TEXT
You can copy and move text from one project to another. For example,
you might have a standard set of opening credits stored in a permanent
project named Credits. When you begin a new production, copy the
standard credits from the Credits project to the new project.
Use either the Page Index or Editing Screen to copy or move pages of
text from one project to another.
• Use the Page Index Screen when transferring many pages at once
because this screen displays the pages in a more compact for-
mat. However, you can copy or move only entire pages.
• Use the Editing Screen to copy or move only a portion of a page.
• Use the Page Index Screen to first copy or move an entire page to
another project, then use the Editing Screen to remove any
pages or titles you don’t need.
To copy or move pages and titles:
1 Go to the Page Index or Editing Screen.
2 Use the
ARROW keys to move the cursor to the beginning of
the item or items you want to copy or move.
3 Press
MARK START. Remember, if you are at the Page Index,
you can mark only entire pages.
4 If you are working at the Editing Screen, move the cursor to
the end of the item or items you want to copy or move, then
press
MARK END.
If you are working at the Page Index, press
MARK END without
moving the cursor. Personal TitleMaker automatically marks
everything on the current page.
5 Press CMD+SHIFT+UP ARROW or CMD+SHIFT+DOWN ARROW to
move the cursor to the project and location where you want
to copy or move the marked titles.
6 To copy the marked pages to the current location, press
COPY. Personal TitleMaker copies the marked pages to the
current project — the originals remain where they are.
To move the marked pages to the current location, press
MOVE. Personal TitleMaker moves the marked pages to the
current project — the originals no longer exist in their origi-
nal location.
