Chapter 6 Working with Pages

The Page Duration area shows how long the page remains on the
screen. In the example above, an infinity symbol appears, indicating
that this particular page remains on the screen until you remove it by
some specific action (such as pressing the
PLAY key again). When you
set the page for infinite duration, scroll, or crawl, a corresponding sym-
bol appears here. If you set the page for a timed duration, numbers
replace the symbols. See “Setting Page Duration” on page 72 for more
information.
The OUT Effect icon is similar to the IN Effect icon except that
it shows the transition used when the page leaves the Play
Screen. To change the transition, press
EFFECTS/OUT. See “Set-
ting Out Effects” and “Transitions” on page 70 for more infor-
mation.
CREATING PAGES
You can create new, blank pages whenever and wherever needed. You
can also create new pages by splitting the text on an existing page so
that the page becomes two or more separate pages. The position of the
cursor on a page (or within a title line) determines what occurs in
each case.
Any time you create a new page (whether blank or otherwise) the new
page inherits all attributes assigned to the preceding page. If there is no
preceding page, Personal TitleMaker creates the new page with default
attributes.
To create a new, blank page:
1 On the Editing Screen, position the cursor (1) at the end of
the page immediately preceding where you want to create the
new page, or (2) at the beginning of the page in front of which
you want to create the blank page.

Suppose you have a page that contains a two-line title. The first line
contains the name of the program, the second contains the date on
which it was created. When you play this page, both lines of the title
