2 Enter the following text, all on one line. Note that as you
type past the right edge of the screen, it automatically
scrolls to the left so that you can see what you are typing.
Although the characters aren’t visible toward the beginning
of the line, they are still there.
Type, “B
IG BEN IS THE TALLEST, NON-ELECTRIC TIME DEVICE OPER-
ATING
IN GREAT BRITAIN”.
3 Use the
POSN and UP/DOWN ARROW keys to align the text at
the bottom of the page.
4 Press
EFFECTS/IN to display the menu, move the cursor into
the second sub-menu, and set the crawl speed to 3 (any
faster than this and the text might move so quickly you
won’t be able to read it).
5 Move down to the last sub-menu and highlight the Crawl
option, then press
NEW LINE OK.
You need not set a transition for this page because when you
choose the Crawl or Scroll option, Personal TitleMaker ignores any
transitions that might be set.
6 Press
BACKGROUND/PATTERN and set the page background to
Video.
7 As you learned earlier, superimposing text over video
requires some special considerations for the text charac-
ters. So, press
LETTER/COLOR and choose a light color (such
as white) for the text. Then press
OUTLINE/COLOR and choose
a contrasting color (such as black) for the outline around
the characters to give them good definition.
If you choose any font other than number 3, the outline appears as
narrow borders around the outside edge of each letter. However, if
you choose font number 3, Personal TitleMaker displays each char-
acter inside an individual box. This occurs because the letters are
too small to outline effectively in the same way as the other fonts.
