Personal TitleMaker User Guide
74
Crawl causes the page to roll horizontally on the screen, beginning off-
screen right and finishing off-screen left. If the page contains more
than one title line, Personal TitleMaker inserts a space between them. If
two lines have different attributes (such as font, color, style, and so
forth), the first line must exit the screen before the second line can
begin to crawl.
You can make a crawl occur at the top, middle, or bottom of the page.
This depends on how you align the titles. See “Positioning Titles on a
Page” on page 86.
You cannot combine Scroll and Crawl with other transition effects.
That is, when you choose Scroll or Crawl, Personal TitleMaker automat-
ically disables all other transitions.
Use the Speed sub-menu to set the speed at which the Scroll or Crawl
runs.
Tips for Using Effects
Generally, keep effects simple. Avoid using too many fancy effects —
they tend to distract from the message and can become very tedious to
watch.
Use complementary effects for in and out. For example, if you slide a
page in from the right, have it slide out to the left.
When pages have different background or border colors and patterns,
most effects happen in two steps. For example, suppose you use fades
to change from titles on a red background to titles on a green back-
ground. The titles on the first page fade first, leaving the background
red. Subsequently the background cuts from red to green, and the in
effect for the second page occurs. For clean and simple effects, use the
same background color and patterns for both pages.
