ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT
3. Calculate the shim thickness (T1).
NOTE:
If the F value is negative (–), then subtract
the F value from the measurement.
Shim thickness (T1) =
Measured value (M) mm +
0.1 mm + F/100 mm
4. F is deviation of the lower case dimen-
sion from standard. If is stamped on the
trim tab mounting surface of the lower
case in 0.01 mm units. If the F mark is
missing or unreadable, assume a F
mark “0”, and check the backlash when
the unit is assembled.
Example:
If M is “0.15 mm” and F mark is “+5”, then
T
1
= 0.15 + 0.1 + (+5)/100
= 0.25 + 0.05
= 0.30 mm
If M is “0.15 mm” and F mark is “–5”, then
T
1
= 0.15 + 0.1 + (–5)/100
= 0.25 – 0.05
= 0.20 mm
Available shim thicknesses:
0.05, 0.08, 0.12, 0.30, and 0.50
mm
