Tension to torque:
For winders it is important that the tension fit to the web. With too low tension, the web does not wind correctly. With too
high tension, the web
might rip. This is the worst case, because the winder will accelerate, if there is no web break
monitoring.
The tension is a force measured in Newton [N]. When the tension is multiplied by the radius of the coil, the necessary
torque for the selected tension can be calculated. Most torque is needed with maximum diameter at lowest motor speed.
