DATA:POINts:EVENt:THReshold<count>
DATA:POINts:EVENt:THReshold?
Sets the number of measurements to store in reading memory before setting bit 9 in the Standard Operation Register
group event register to 1. An event register is a read-only register that latches events from the condition register.
While an event bit is set, subsequent events corresponding to that bit are ignored.
For more information on the SCPI Status System, see Status Subsystem Introduction.
Parameter Typical Return
34460A: 1 to 1,000 readings
34461A: 1 to 10,000 readings
The default value is 1 for both models.
+125
Set the reading memory threshold to 125 measurements:
DATA:POIN:EVEN:THR 125
l To report any subsequent events, the measurement count must first drop below the programmed threshold
before reaching the threshold again.
l Use STATus:OPERation:ENABle to enable the Memory Threshold bit (bit 9 in the Standard Operation Event
register) to be reported to the Status Byte.
l Once the Memory Threshold bit (bit 9 in the Standard Operation Event register) is set, it will remain set until
cleared by STATus:OPERation:EVENt? or *CLS.
l The Standard Operation Condition register shows the current condition. See STATus Subsystem Introduction for
further information.
l This parameter is set to its default value after a Factory Reset (*RST) or Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet).
DATA:REMove?<num_readings> [,WAIT]
Reads and erases <num_readings> measurements from the reading memory. If fewer than <num_readings>
measurements are available, the query will return an error unless the WAIT parameter is specified, in which case the
query will wait until <num_readings measurements are available.
Parameter Typical Return
34460A: 1 to 1,000 readings
34461A: 1 to 10,000 readings
-4.97215654E-01,-4.97343268E-01,-4.97121213E-01
Read and erase the three oldest readings from reading memory:
DATA:REMove? 3
l The R? and DATA:REMove? queries allow you to periodically remove measurements from the reading memory that
would normally cause the reading memory to overflow.
l You can store up to 1,000 measurements in the reading memory of the 34460A or 10,000 measurements on the
34461A. If reading memory overflows, new measurements will overwrite the oldest measurements stored; the
most recent measurements are always preserved. No error is generated, but the Reading Mem Ovfl bit (bit 14) is
set in the Questionable Data Register's condition register (see Status System Introduction).
