Procedure using butt set or telephone for Package D ONTs
The following procedures provide the steps to enter a SLID at the Package D ONT
(I-240G-R or O-240G-P ONT) using a butt set or telephone.
Procedure 6-50 To enter the SLID using a butt set or telephone
1 Connect the power cable to provide power to the ONT.
2 Disconnect the PON and connect the butt set or telephone to the first POTS port
on the ONT.
3 Reset the ONT by pushing the reset button for over five seconds.
4 Wait for the green POTS LED on the ONT to start flashing (0.7 second on and 0.7
second off).
5 Take the butt set or telephone off-hook.
6 Perform one of the following steps to activate the dial tone (Frequency: 450Hz,
continue):
a For an ASCII SLID/Password, dial “*0”.
b For a Hexadecimal SLID/Password, dial “*L”.
The special number can be changed in different scenarios with different
images loads.
7 After the dial tone is activated, perform one of the following steps to dial the SLID
value:
a For an ASCII SLID/Password, dial twice the SLID value up to 10 digits long with
a “#” ending each time.
The two passwords must be the same. Only digits in the range of 0 to 9 are
accepted.
b For a hexadecimal SLID/Password, dial twice the SLID value up to 20 digits
long with a “#” ending each time. Only digits in the range 0 to 9 are
accepted.
The two passwords must be the same. Only digits in the range of 0 to 9 and
“1” and “6” (representing the letters “A” to “F”) are accepted.
Note — To use a butt set or telephone:
The ONT must be disconnected from the PON optical cable.
The butt set or telephone must be connected to the first POTS port
on the ONT.
The SLID must be in ASCII or hexadecimal format.
