Recommended tools
The recommended tools for this DLP are:
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• 1/4 in. (6 mm) flat blade screwdriver
• wire strippers
• fiber optic splicing tools
• RJ-45 cable plug crimp tool
• voltmeter or multimeter
• optical power meter
Procedure
Use this procedure to install I-010G-U indoor ONTs.
1 Locate the data cable and the corresponding interfaces.
2 Determine the area where the I-010G-U indoor ONT will be installed.
3 Are any of the cables missing or are they located away from the I-010G-U indoor
ONT mounting area?
a If yes, go to step 4.
b If no, go to step 5.
Danger — Observe the local and national laws and regulations that
may be applicable to this installation.
Warning — This equipment is ESD sensitive. Proper ESD protections
should be used when handling the I-010G-U indoor ONT.
Caution — Keep the I-010G-U indoor ONT out of direct sunlight.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can damage the unit.
Note — Observe the following:
• The I-010G-U indoor ONT should be installed in accordance with the
applicable requirements of the NEC or CEC. Local authorities and
practices take precedence when there is conflict between the local
standard and the NEC or CEC.
• The I-010G-U indoor ONT must be installed by qualified service
personnel.
• I-010G-U indoor ONTs must be installed with cables that are suitably
rated and listed for indoor use.
• See the I-010G-U ONT unit data sheet documentation for the
temperature ranges for this ONTs.
