NTP 122 — Replace an I-010G-B, I-020G-M, or I-040G-B indoor ONT
NTP 122-4 November 2013 Alcatel-Lucent 7302 ISAM | 7330 ISAM FTTN | 7360 ISAM FX ONT R04.06.02

ONT Product Information Guide
6 If required, have approved service personnel who are trained to work with optic
fiber clean the fiber optic connection. See DLP 134 for more information about
fiber optic handling, inspection, and cleaning.
7 Connect the SC/APC adaptor to the fiber optic port (DLP 125).
8 Connect the power cable with an 8-pin Molex connector to the ONT unit.
Danger — Fiber optic cables transmit invisible laser light. To avoid eye
damage or blindness, never look directly into fibers, connectors, or
adapters.
Warning — Be careful to maintain a bend radius of no less than 1.5
inches (3.8 cm) when connecting the fiber optic cable. Too small of a
bend radius in the cable can result in damage to the optic fiber.
Warning — To avoid the possibility of damage to the pins on the power
cable connector, carefully align the pins on the connector on the cable
with the pin holes in the power connector on the ONT before making the
connection. The pin hole configuration in the power connector on the
ONT is shown in Figure NTP 122-2 while the pin arrangement on the
Molex connector is shown in Figure NTP 122-3.
Note — When the I-040G-B ONT is used with the Delta DUPS-1215 4.5Ah
UPS at ac line voltages above 200 V ac (either 50 or 60Hz), then the dc
power cable must be equipped with an external clamp-on ferrite
[Fair-Rite 0431167281 (1AB 09397 0026)]. The ferrite must be installed
closer to the UPS than the ONT on the dc power cable.
