Mediant 3000
Parameter Description
or SDH Transmission type(1).
 When option [3] is selected, the clock source is automatically
set to 'Local Board' (synchronization supplied by device) and
cannot be changed.
 For more details regarding the parameter, see the
SDHFbrGrp_SdhSonetMode parameter.
Protected
[SDHFbrGrp_Protected]
Activates the Automatic Protection Switching (APS) mechanism on
the PSTN interface, typically per Fiber Group.
 [0] False = APS not activated.
 [1] True = (Default) APS activated.
Note: For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
APS Revert Mode
[SDHFbrGrp_APS_RevertMode
]
Enables the Automatic Protection Switch (APS) Revertive mode for
users operating in SDH/SONET mode. The Revertive mode
enables the switching of traffic from the active fiber link (previously
redundant) back to the original link (previously active) after the link
is restored.
 [0] Non-Revertive (default)
 [1] Revertive
Notes:
 For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
 The parameter is applicable only when the
SDHFbrGrp_Protected parameter is set to 1.
 When configured in Revertive mode, the Wait-to-Restore time
can be defined (using the SDHFbrGrp_APS_WTR parameter).
APS WTR
[SDHFbrGrp_APS_WTR]
Defines the time (Wait-to-Restore time) after which traffic is
switched from the redundant link back to the original link when
restored. Wait-to-
Restore time is relevant when the Revertive mode
of Automatic Protection Switch (APS) is configured (using the
parameter SDHFbrGrpAPSRevertMode) for users operating in
SDH/SONET mode.
The valid range is 5 to 12 min. The default is 5 min.
Notes:
 For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
 The parameter is applicable only if the
SDHFbrGrp_APS_RevertMode parameter is set to 1.
APS Direction Mode
[SDHFbrGrp_APS_DirMode]
Determines the Automatic Protection Switch (APS) mode for the
fiber group:
 [0] = (Default) Unidirectional APS mode.
 [1] = Bidirectional APS mode.
Notes:
 For the parameter to take effect, a device reset is required.
 The parameter is applicable only when the
SDHFbrGrp_Protected parameter is set to 1.
Tributary KLM Numbering
[SDHFbrGrp_KLM_Numbering_
Scheme]
Determines the KLM numbering scheme for VC/VT numbering on
STM-1/OC-3 interfaces.
 [0] MLK (ETSI) = (Default) numbering scheme where M is run
first, then L, and last K. Typically used for SDH.
 [1] LMK (GR-253) = Numbering scheme where L is run first,
then M, and last K. Typically used for SONET.
