Updating the A640 Firmware
The rmware update process resets the A640 and clears all user settings and preset data. It is a
good idea to back up the current state of the A640 as a conguration as part of the update process
to preserve your current mixes and user preferences. The rmware update process includes an
opportunity to save all current settings.
Updating the A640 rmware disables all audio and mixing functions until the process is complete.
To update the A640 rmware:
• Select the Check for A640 Updates option from the File Transfer window by scrolling with
either encoder knob.
• Press either encoder button to activate it.
• The A640 searches the USB storage device for a valid rmware le that is newer than what
is currently installed.

A rmware update is available.
Perform an update?
Choose Yes to continue the rmware update.
• If new rmware is found, choose YeS to continue and install the update or choose no to
exit without updating the A640’s rmware.
• If you answer Yes to continue the rmware update process you are given the opportunity
to save the current user settings and mix presets in the A640 as a conguration.
