Seat Deflate
Patient Comfort
The Seat Deflate feature allows for easier bedpan placement.
Warning—Seat deflate is not recommended for side sitting or side egress. Injury could occur.
To Activate
1. Press the Surface menu control.
2. Press Seat Deflate.
The Progressa+ Advance Surface will automatically exit the Seat Deflate mode and return to normal
mode after 30 minutes. After 28 minutes, a beep will sound and the GCI screen will show that there are
2 minutes that remain.
To Deactivate
1. Press the Surface menu control.
2. Press Normal/Normal (CLP).
Patient Comfort lets you adjust the pressure settings for the patient’s comfort and still provide
pressure redistribution. There are three zones to adjust. Adjustments through the GCI screen permit
you to adjust the zones separately.
The system automatically supplies pressure distribution for the patient’s position on the mattress.
To Adjust the Firmness
1. Press the Surface menu control.
