2018.07 | 16 | F.01U.287.180 Installation Manual Bosch Security Systems, Inc.
8.3.6 Local programming
Use the B426 IP Direct connect feature to locally connect with RPS or the Installer Services
Portal programming tool (available in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and China).
Connecting the B426 to RPS or the Installer Services Portal programming tool using IP
Direct
1. If the module does not use the Ethernet for IP communication, skip to the next step. If
the module does use the Ethernet for IP communication, power down the module and
remove the Ethernet cable that connects it to the network.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable to the module.
3. Connect the same Ethernet cable to the computer on which you installed RPS or the
Installer Services Portal programming tool.
4. Apply power to the module, if applicable. Within 2 minutes, the RPS or Installer Services
Portal programming tool computer assigns an IP address with AutoIP.
5. In RPS or in the Installer Services Portal programming tool, open the control panel
account and click Connect.
6. From the Connect Via drop-down list select IP Direct. Click Connect.
Make sure that you reconnect the cable used for IP communication, if applicable.
For more information on using AutoIP, refer to AutoIP, page 144.
8.4 B450 Conettix plug-in communicator interface
The B450 holds a plug-in cellular module so that it can connect to the control panel with SDI2
terminal wiring or SDI2 interconnect wiring.
The B450 supports one cellular plug-in module.
For detailed instructions, refer to the corresponding document listed in Related
documentation, page 12.
8.4.1 SDI2 address settings
Notice!
The module reads the address switch setting only during module power up. If you change the
setting after you apply power to the module, you must cycle the power to the module in order
for the new setting to take effect.
The control panel supports one module. Set the address switch to 1.
8.4.2 Supervision
The control panel supervises in two ways:
Module supervision. The control panel supervises the module through polling. If the
module does not respond to the control panel polling, the control panel declares the
device missing.
Communication supervision. The control panel supervises the communication path by
polling the central station receiver. If the poll is missed from either side, a communication
fault is declared both at the control panel and the central station receiver.
8.4.3 Installation and control panel wiring (B450)
Calculate power consumption
Make sure that there is enough power for the module and the other powered devices that you
want to connect to the system.
Refer to On-board outputs, page 49.
