20 Keypad Installer menu
In addition to RPS and the Installer Services Portal programming tool (available in Europe,
Middle East, Africa, and China), you can configure and diagnose a system with a keypad.
Programming and diagnostics options appear on the keypad when you access the Main Menu
(Installer) option, which includes the Installer menu. The Main Menu (Installer) option
becomes available during normal control panel operation only when you enter the installer
passcode and press Enter. The default installer passcode is 1-2-3.
The tools within the Main Menu (Installer) are:
– Programming Menu. Program several parameters to make your system operational.
Options include: phone number and format, enhanced communication options, RPS or
Installer Services Portal programming tool parameters, users, points, and keypad
parameters. Refer to [1] Program menu (Programming), page 101, and to RPS Help or the
Installer Services Portal programming tool Help.
– Wireless Menu. Add, replace, remove, and diagnose points and repeaters. Refer to [2]
Wireless menu, page 120.
– Diagnostics Menu. Diagnose points, repeaters, cellular service, IP cameras, and Cloud.
Refer to [3] Diags menu, page 123.
– Service Bypass Menu. View whether points are removed from service. Refer to [4]
Service Bypass (Serv Byp) menu, page 124.
– Version Menu. View the version information for the control panel, encryption, and more.
Refer to [5] Versions menu, page 125.
– Cloud Menu. Enable Cloud connectivity for the control panel. Refer to [6] Cloud menu,
page 126.
Installer keypads and SERVICE MODE
The Installer menu is also available from the Service menu when in SERVICE MODE. The
Service menu is a subset of the Main menu (Installer) option. You can use Service mode at any
keypad, but the feature is most useful when you want to directly connect an Installer keypad
to the control panel for keypad programming at the control panel.
Accessing SERVICE MODE (rapid pulsing Heartbeat LED)
1. Set the Installer keypad to address 0.
2. Connect it to the control panel.
3. Press and hold the control panel RESET button until the Heartbeat LED flashes fast. The
keypad shows SERVICE MODE and prompts for the installer passcode.
4. Enter your installer passcode and press Enter.
