7. Verify status of DS0 circuits on DS1 lines to be turned up by comparing DS0 status with office
records. If there is a discrepancy, follow standard practices to resolve problem.
Set Unused Circuits Out of Service
NOTE: The factory default sets all DS1s and DS0s in-service (up). To prevent
inadvertent service disruptions, it is good practice to set circuits out of service (down) when
not in use or not provisioned in the switch.
Set unused DS1s out of service (down).
Set the type of unused DS0 channels to match the DS0 type configured on the device at
the other end of the DS1. If the DS1 is not terminated, set the type to data.
Set unused circuits out of service with the following commands.
set ds1 <n> down
set ds0 <n:ch> type <voice|data>
