Provision GR-303 Service
Set System Switch Type
Set System Switch Type
NOTE: Access Navigator supports Lucent 5ESS, Nortel DMS, and generic Telcordia
GR-303 switch types.
1. Show switch type with the following command:
show switch
2. If switch type is correct, skip remaining steps.
3. Set switch type with the following command:
set switch type <5ess|dms|generic>
Example: set switch type 5ess
Set System Clock Source
NOTE: For GR-303 call support, the primary and secondary clock sources are usually
set to two DS1s within the GR-303 Interface Group.
1. Show current clock settings with the following command:
show clock
This command will produce a message similar to the following:
Primary Master Transmit Clock Source: DS1 25
Secondary Master Transmit Clock Source: DS1 29
2. If clock settings are correct, skip remaining steps.
3. Set clock primary (clock1) source with the following command:
set clock1 <setting>
Example: set clock1 bits
There are three different settings, which are defined as follows:
Setting
Definition
bits Select external or BITS source on Timing In connector
ds1 <n> Select clock recovered from DS1 number n
internal Select internal oscillator
4. Set clock secondary (clock2) source with one of the following commands:
set clock2 <setting>
Example: set clock2 ds1 5
Choose setting from list in previous step.
