Maintenance Procedures
Replace Quad T1 Framer Card
Verify Operation
1. Display equipment status of Quad T1 Framer card with the following command:
status equipment
A message similar to the following will appear.

DS1 Card 1 Installed 1
DS1 Card 2 Installed 1
DS1 Card 3 Installed 1
DS1 Card 4 Installed 1
DS1 Card 5 Installed 1
DS1 Card 6 Installed 1
DS1 Card 7 Card not installed
DS1 Card 8 Card not installed
Requirement: Equipment status shows new DS1 card is installed.
NOTE: Refer to office records to determine which DS1s are to be put back in service.
NOTE: If desired, you can also test unused DS1 circuits in the following steps.
Temporarily create a loopback between the DS1 transmit and receive signals by cross-
connecting them at the patch panel. Then set the unused DS1s in service to observe status
indications and messages.
2. Set DS1 circuits back in service with the following command, where <n> is the DS1 number or
range of numbers:
set ds1 <n> up
Example: set ds1 9 up
Example: set ds1 9-12 up
