Maintenance Procedures
Install SIMM on Controller Card
Install SIMM
CAUTION! DO NOT REMOVE THE ACTIVE CONTROLLER CARD.
1. Locate standby Controller card slot (see Figure 16-2).

NOTE: The example in Figure 16-16 shows installation and removal of Controller B.
2. Push both card ejector latches on standby Controller toward outside of card until card connector
releases with backplane connector (see A in Figure 16-16).
3. Slide standby Controller partially out of card slot to expose SIMM socket (see B in Figure 16-16).
4. Remove SIMM from anti-static bag.
5. Hold SIMM at about a 45 degree angle with notch positioned at front of socket (see C in
Figure 16-16) and insert connector edge of SIMM into socket.
6. Push SIMM down toward circuit board until it snaps into socket clamps (see D in Figure 16-16).
7. Carefully slide upgraded Controller back into card slot.
8. Press card ejector latches in toward center of card until card connector mates with backplane
connector (see E in Figure 16-16).
