IR Accuracy

Appendix B IR Accuracy
The IR accuracy is calculated based on the leakage current measurement accuracy of
instrument measured and voltage measurement accuracy.
This chapter provides IR accuracy calculated formula and example.

*1. For measured accuracy of leakage current and voltage, see the table in section 2.1.3.
*2. Vos and Ios are represented for range error (offset error) of Vmea and LC Range.
DUT: Insulation resistance IR: 100.0MΩ / test voltage 100V
Measured Result: 100V / 100.0MΩ (1.000uA)
Measured Range: Range Vmea: 100V / range LC: 2.0uA
Calculation example:
% Reading of Vmea Range: 0.3% (check the table in section 2.1.3, 100V Range)
% Reading of LC Range: 0.3% (the table in section 2.1.3, 2.0uA Range)
Vos of Vmea Range=0.3%*100.00V=0.30V (the table in section 2.1.3
, 100V Range)
=
0.30
100.0
= 0.3%
Ios of LC Range=0.3%*2.000uA=0.006uA (the table in section 2.1.3
, 2.0uA Range)
=
100.0
100.0
=1.000uA
=
0.006
1.000
= 0.6%
Calculating % IR

= 0.3% + 0.3% + 0.3% + 0.6% = 1.5%
