1. Preface
1.1 Overview
The insulation tests inside of traditional battery cell are all tested the leakage current at the
last stage for judging whether the internal insulation states are in good condition. The
traditional test method doesn’t detect whether Partial Discharge (PD) is occurred during the
entire test procedure. The Chroma 11210 Battery Cell Insulation Tester conducts Partial
Discharge detection for Charge, Dwell and Test during the entire test and combines the final
measured result of Leakage Current for customers control occurred discharge condition as
the criteria to define the battery cell quality.
The test functions equipped with this device contains LC, IR, Contact Check and Partial
Discharge (option), which are perfect functions for the production line and quality assurance.
The Chroma 11210 Battery Cell Insulation Tester has multiple remote interface options. LAN,
Handler, USB (B-Type) and RS-232C remote interfaces come standard for software or
hardware control of test conditions, measurement trigger, judge test results, and collect
measured data. There also has USB (A-Type) interface for saving device setting and
measured by external trigger instrument via Handler interface to transmit the measured result
to the external device.
The Chroma 11210 Battery Cell Insulation Tester was designed with many enhancements and
key features to make it the best choice to meet the demands of modern component
characterization analysis and high speed testing for automated production line or
incoming/outgoing inspection applications.
