15.4 Infeed conveyor chain tensioning
The chain on the infeed conveyor is tensioned by means of two rods (Fig. 15.6 pos. 3),
these can be found on the back of the infeed conveyor. The chain tension adjustment is
carried out very rarely, if necessary proceed as follows:
a) Disconnect the main electrical supply from the machine.
b) Dismantle the back cover at the end of the infeed conveyor (Fig. 15.1 pos. 5).
c) To apply more tension to the chain unscrew the two nuts equally (Fig. 15.6 pos. 1)
placed on the internal part of the plate (Fig. 15.6 pos. 2). Then screw the two external
nuts (fig. 15.6 pos. 5), turn the two nuts in equal manner until you reach the desired
tension of the chain, now re-block the two internal nuts.
d) Re-assemble the guard under the infeed conveyor and switch on the main electrical
supply.
ATTENTION
Do not over tension the chain, make sure it make a slight arch underneath, and be
sure that he two rods have been tensioned equally, so that the sprocket shaft (Fig.
15.6 pos. 4) is parallel to the plate ( Fig. 15.6 pos. 2).
