18.2 Use and Maintenance
ATTENTION
Before the machine is switched on make sure the electrical supplied is according
to the machine specifications. Control the good condition of the guards and that all
the stainless steel guardings are firmly fastened.
Unauthorized persons are to be kept at a safe distance from the machine during
the starting up operation.
a) Turn ON the main door block switch, the main door block switch can be found on the
back panel.
ATTENTION
Before starting the machine, wait for the temperature of the sealing parts to set at
the thermos-regulator preset value (usually requires about 40-45 minutes).
b) Check that the mushroom-head push-button/s is/are disconnected.
c) Use the potentiometer to set the wrapping speed to a low value.
d) Turn the key selector to the right to select the jog mode.
e) Press Start and check the proper operation of the machine.
ATTENTION
The "jog mode" selector key must be kept by the safety manager and never be left
on board the machine.
f) Open the first couple of pulling wheels by hand lowering the lever or turning the apposite
selector.
g) Insert the film by hand taking care of its correct position around the forming tunnel.
h) Release the opening lever or turn the selector to close the pulling wheels.
i) Turn the key selector in the "jog mode" position.
j) Press and hold down button Start.
k) Set the bag length according to the production requirements and do the necessary slow-
down adjustments.
ATTENTION
The bag length adjustment must always be done when the machine is operating so
as to avoid damages to the speed variator.
l) Set the sealing jaw and the fin-seal wheels temperature values, if necessary.
m) Check the efficiency of the sealing jaw's knife.
n) Load the products to be wrapped on the infeed conveyor and proceed to the product
timing through the apposite push-button and hand wheel until achieving the appropriate
timing between infeed conveyor and sealing jaw as described in Chapter 12.
