ATTENTION An excessive pressure of the transverse sealing jaws can
cause wear and tear of the cutting knife.
o) Disconnect the main electrical supply.
p) Dismantle the back guard.
q) Fasten the two rings
(Fig. 8.1.3
pos.1) of the safety torque limit with the two section
spanners supplied with the machine (only with mechanical torque limiter).
r) Re-assemble the back guard and switch on the main electrical supply.
8.4 Jaw teeth adjustment on a sealing jaw with transverse
sealing pattern
ATTENTION To carry out this operation, operators must wear protective
gloves to protect their hands from the heat of the sealing parts since these have
to reach the set temperature before adjustments can be made. These operations
must be carried out by specialized and trained personnel in charge of
maintenance operations. It is recommended to contact the local distributor or
manufacturer, before carrying out these adjustments. The fin wheel pressure is
adjusted by specialised technical personnel at the manufacturer, and it should
therefore not be necessary to carry out any further adjustments.
Carry out the following adjustments before you proceed to adjust the jaw teeth adjustment
1) Stop the machine with the jaws in open position.
2) Disconnect he electrical supply to the machine.
3) Remove the back safety guard.
(
Fig. 8.5.1
pos. 1).
4) Loosen the blocking ring (5-6 turns)
(
Fig.8.1.3
pos.1) of the torque limit by means of
a section spanner that you can find in the machine tool box (only with mechanical
torque limiter).
5) Re-assemble the back guard
(
Fig.8.5.1
pos. 1) guard and connect the electrical supply
to the machine, wait for the jaws to reach the imposed temperature.
Adjustment for a sealing jaw with transverse sealing pattern
a) With the wooden handle of the hammer push down the knife so that it goes under the
sealing msurface.
1. Loosen the grub screw
(
Fig.8.2.2
pos. 2)
2. Loosen slightly the allen key screws
(
Fig.8.2.1
pos. 1)
3. Turn out the allen head grub screw (conical shape) of a couple of turns
(
Fig.8.2.2
pos. 1)
b) Wait for the jaws to reach the necessary working temperature. Heat resistant gloves
are to be worn during this operation in order to avoid burns to hands and fingers.
c) Close the jaws by turning the hand wheel. Control the teeth alignment
(
Fig.8.1.2
).
If
the jaws need to be aligned proceed as follows:
ATTENTION The slip rings of the sealing jaw assembly will have electrical
supply to them, it is therefore necessary to pay careful attention not to touch
them with your hands or arms.
