2.6.3 Personal protection equipment
The machine’s operator and the temporary machine operators have to wear the following
personal protection equipment (PPE) so as to avoid those hazards which cannot be
completely eliminated in certain conditions of use
Obligation to wear safety gloves:
in lifting, moving, placing, maintenance, installation, dismantling and scrapping
operations.
Obligation to wear safety shoes:
in lifting, moving, placing, maintenance, installation, dismantling and scrapping
operations
Obligation to wear hard hats:
in lifting, moving, placing, maintenance, installation, dismantling and scrapping
operations.
Obligation to wear protective overalls:
During maintenance, installation, dismantling and scrapping operations.
Obligation to wear heat protection gloves:
during preparation, use and cleaning operations.
Obligation to wear protective gowns:
during preparation, use and cleaning operations.
2.7 Residual risks
The machine has some residual risks that differ according to type and extent of the risk,
and almost all are in the work zone (Z fig. 2.3.1).
ATTENTION
Part of the hazards present on the machine becomes residual risks for persons
who may not have observed the safety instructions given by the manufacturer
(see Chapter 2.8 - General instructions for safety and prevention).
In particular, the persons in proximity with the work zone become “exposed
persons” only when they insert their upper limbs into the work zone.
