6.6 Film editing
Thread the film through the calander by following the indications shown in the illustration
attached to the machine. The film is passed through a calander in order to ensure a smooth
unwinding for an efficient entry in the forming box area.
The rollers are composed of the following parts:
a) Tiltable roller support complete of two free running rollers.
b) A group of rollers to ensure that the film is always inserted in the forming box with the
printed area facing up.
Fig. 6.9 Schematic for the film threading
The two rollers adjustable forwards/backwards have two functions:
1) Longitudinal adjustment necessary to distance the rollers in respect to the free running
roller (Fig. 6.10 pos. 2). Loosen the handle (Fig. 6.10 pos. 3). Carry out the adjustment
only once the machine has stopped running.
2) Vertical adjustment is obtained by turning the rollers clockwise or anticlockwise (Fig.
6.10 pos. 1). Loosen the handle (Fig. 6.10 pos. 3). Carry out the adjustment only once
the machine has stopped running.
ATTENTION
Whilst loosening the blocking handle hold the end of the roller support with the
other hand in order to avoid a rough movement.
NOTE For the correct schematic for the film threading, see the machine at
the position indicated in the figure 6.9.
All the possible positions are indicated by metric rules and can be written down on the
technical sheet. The technical sheet is supplied with the machine from our factory or by the
technician that installs the machine.
