8.7 Heat adjustment and replacement of the heaters
Fig. 8.6.1 View of the jaw slip rings
The sealing jaw temperature varies according to type and thickness of the film and can be
adjusted with the thermoregulator present on the control panel. Check that the electric
parts of the sealing jaws are in perfect working order.
To replace the heaters proceed as follows:
1) Stop the machine with the jaws in the closed position, on against each other.
2) Shut off the electrical supply to the machine by turning the main plug from the
machine, placed in the back guard of the machine
(Fig.8.5.1
pos.1).
3) Dismantle the back guard
(Fig.8.5.1
pos.1). The back and front guard of the sealing jaw
assembly. To dismantle the front guard of the sealing jaw assembly first remove the
hand wheel by loosening the grub screw that holds the hand wheel in place, now
remove the bolts that hold the guard in place. Open the plate that contains the
electrical components by loosening the relative bolts that hold it in place.
4) Wait for the sealing jaws to cool down.
5) Find the broken resistance by using a tester, once you have found the faulty heater
and cut the wire.
6) Loosen the grub screw M4 (Fig. 8.6.2 pos.1) that holds the heater, and pull it out
towards the control panel of the machine.
7) Re-assemble the heater by using the same procedure for removing it keep in mind
however that the thermocouple wires are connected to the slip ring with 4 tracks
placed on the lower jaw. The heater wires are to be connected to the two tracks on
the internal side of the
machine (Fig.8.6.1
pos.4) Re-assemble the guards that have
been dismantled and connect the electrical supply.
