13-5. Paper Take Up Mechanism
• Drive for the paper take-up sequence is transmitted via the Paper Take-Up Solenoid from
a motor.
(1) Paper Separating Mechanism
• The coefficient of friction between the Paper Take-Up Roll and Separator Roll is effec-
tively used to prevent double feed of paper.
When one sheet of paper is taken up:The coefficient of friction on the front side of the
sheet of paper taken up and fed through the space
between the Paper Take-Up Roll and Separator Roll
is the same as that on the backside of the sheet of
paper, allowing the paper to be properly fed into the
machine.
When two or more sheets of paper are taken up:The coefficient of friction between the
paper and the Separator Roll is greater
than that between the sheets of paper,
which allows only the top sheet of paper to
be fed into the machine.
