How to troubleshoot a Distech ECYPSE Controller that is powered but not turning on?
    • T
      Tammy PerezJul 31, 2025
If your Distech Controller is powered but not turning on, there might be several reasons: * A fuse may have blown. Disconnect the power, check the fuse, and then reconnect the power. * There might be an issue with the power supply polarity. Make sure that consistent polarity is maintained between all controllers and the transformer, and that the COM terminal of each controller is connected to the same terminal on the secondary side of the transformer. * The device may not have enough power or the power quality may be poor. Check that the transformer used is powerful enough to supply all controllers.

Why is the STATUS LED blinking on my Distech ECYPSE Controller?
    • J
      jocelynsandersAug 17, 2025
If the STATUS LED is blinking on your Distech Controller, it indicates that the device has auto-diagnosed a fault condition. Consult the fault codes list for more information.

What does it mean if the RX LED is not blinking on a Distech Controller?
    • T
      Taylor BeardAug 22, 2025
If the RX LED is not blinking on your Distech Controller, it means that data is not being received from the BACnet MS/TP data bus. If there is no communication, see Table 16-1.

What does POWER constant on mean for Distech ECYPSE?
    • M
      Martin ChoiAug 26, 2025
Power being constantly on at the device means that power is available at the device. However this does not mean that the quality of supplied power is good. If not lit, see Power Supply Requirements for 24VAC-Powered Controllers on page 130 for the power requirements.

What to do if the hardware output is not operating correctly on a Distech ECYPSE Controller?
    • J
      John KaufmanNov 4, 2025
If a hardware output on your Distech Controller isn't working right, here are a few things to check: * A fuse may have blown. Disconnect the power and output terminals, wait a few seconds for the auto-reset fuse to cool down, check the power supply and output wiring, and then reconnect the power. * There might be a problem with the output wiring. Ensure the wiring is correct according to the module’s hardware installation manual and the peripheral device’s manufacturer. * There could be a configuration problem. Use EC-gfxProgram to check the output configuration and ensure it is enabled. * If it's a 0-10V output and a 24VAC powered actuator isn't moving, check the polarity of the 24VAC power supply connected to the actuator while connected to the controller. Reverse the 24VAC wire...

Why is my Distech ECYPSE Controller not communicating on the BACnet MS/TP network?
    • W
      William HernandezNov 8, 2025
If your Distech Controller isn't communicating on the BACnet MS/TP network, consider the following possible causes: * There might be an absent or incorrect supply voltage. Check the power supply voltage between the 24VAC/DC and 24V COM pins, ensuring it's within acceptable limits (±15% for 24V controllers). Also, check for tripped fuses or circuit breakers. * The power transformer could be overloaded. Verify that the transformer used is powerful enough to supply all controllers. * The network may not be wired properly. Double-check that the wire connections are correct. * There might be absent or incorrect network termination. Check the network termination(s). * The Max Master parameter might be incorrect. Configure the Max Master to the highest MAC Address of any device on the ...

What causes a Distech ECYPSE Controller to communicate on a short BACnet MS/TP network but not on a large network?
    • D
      davidsmithNov 12, 2025
If your Distech Controller communicates well on a small BACnet MS/TP network but fails on a larger one, here are some potential causes: * The network length may be exceeding specifications. Check that the total wire length does not exceed the specifications in the Network Guide. * The wire type might be incorrect. Verify that the wire type agrees with the specification in the Network Guide. * There could be a network wiring problem. Double-check that the wire connections are correct. * The network termination may be absent or incorrect. Check the network termination(s). Incorrect or broken terminations can make communication integrity dependent on a controller’s position on the network. * The number of controllers on the network segment may be exceeded. The number of controllers...
