``SecurityMode:SelectWEPfromthedropdownlistifyourwirelessnetworkusesWEP
encryption.WEPisanacronymforWiredEquivalentPrivacy,andisasecurityprotocolthat
providesthesamelevelofsecurityforwirelessnetworksasforawirednetwork.
`` Authentication Type: Select an
authentication method. Options available are Open Key,
Shared Key. An open system allows any client to authenticate as long as it conforms to any
MACaddressfilterpoliciesthatmay havebeenset. Allauthenticationpacketsaretransmitted
without encryption. Shared Key sends an unencrypted challenge text string to any
device
attempting to communicate with the Access Point. The device requesting authentication
encrypts the challenge text and sends it back to the Access Point. If the challenge text is
encrypted correctly, the Access Point allows the requesting device to authenticate. It is
recommendedtoselectAutoifyouarenot
surewhichauthenticationtypeisused.
``InputType:SelectHexorASCIIfromthedropdownlist
`` Key Length: Select a key format from the dropdown list. 64bithex keys require 10
characters, where as 128bit keys require 26 characters. A hex key is defined as
a number
between0through9andletterbetweenAthroughFandathroughf.
`` Default Key: You may useup to fourdifferent keys for four different networks. Select the
currentkeythatwillbeused.
