4 Functional Description
This chapter describes the block diagram, the power supply, the operating states,
the “Wake Up” function, the interfaces of the ES910.3-A, NVRAM, Watchdog,
Real Time Clock as well as the firmware update.
4.1 Block Diagram

4.2 Power Supply (7-29V DC)
The power supply interface (7-29V DC) of the ES910.3-A is routed to a 2-pin
connector (Lemo socket) on the back panel of the device. Power is supplied to
the ES910.3-A via an external power supply or vehicle battery.
The first time the ES910.3-A is connected to the operating voltage, the module
switches itself on for some seconds. During this time, the ES910.3-A is initialized
and configured. The module emits a short acoustic signal acknowledging the
end of this procedure.
4.3 ON/AUTO Switch
The ON/AUTO switch can be used to select whether the ES910.3-A is powered
on permanently or whether it is powered on and off automatically depending on
signals at specific interfaces.
4.3.1 ON/AUTO Switch in Position „ON“
If the ON/AUTO switch is "ON", the power supply of the ES910.3-A is activated
when the external power supply is switched on. The module is powered on
(“on”). Powering the connected external power supply on/off results in the swi-
tchover between the operational states "On" and "Off".
