ES910.3-A - User’s Guide 39
ETAS Functional Description
XCP on UDP Rapid Prototyping
The ECU interface supports the XCP on UDP bypass functionality for Rapid Pro-
totyping. The ES910.3-A acts as an XCP master; the connected XCP on UDP
bypass device acts as an XCP slave.
XCP on TCP/IP Measuring and Calibrating
The ECU interface supports the XCP on TCP/IP functionality for measuring and
calibrating. The ES910.3-A acts as an XCP master; the connected XCP on TCP/IP
device acts as an XCP slave.
The universal ASAM measure and calibration protocol XCP is used for serial com-
munication. The UDP/IP protocol is used on the Ethernet transport and network
layer.
XETK Rapid Prototyping and Simultaneous Measuring / Calibrating
The ES910.3-A simultaneously supports the functionalities XCP on UDP bypass
for Rapid Prototyping and XCP on TCP/IP for measuring and calibrating at the
ECU interface for an ECU with XETK.
4.12.4 "Ethernet Interface with iLinkRT
TM
Protocol" Operating Mode
iLinkRT
iLinkRT
TM
was developed jointly by AVL List GmbH and ETAS GmbH specifically
for the application case of a fast ECU access with INCA-MCE. iLinkRT
TM
is a pro-
prietary, open and performance-optimized protocol. It is based on the automo-
tive standard XCP-on-Ethernet, whereby only commands for the measurement
and calibration privilege are used.
iLinkRT
TM
allows fast measurement and calibration privileges as well as simple
implementation for migrating existing test benches up to INCA-MCE.
Synchronization of ETAS Modules in iLinkRT Operating Mode
The ETAS hardware synchronization function at the PC interface (SYNC IN) of
ES910.3-A is activated in the iLinkRT
TM
operating mode.
Note
The operation of an external switch at the ECU interface with daisy chain mod-
ules is supported starting with HSP V9.6.0.
Note
For additional information about iLinkRT, see the protocol specification
"iLinkRT XCP Implementation Description”, which is available from ETAS GmbH
upon request.
Note
For additional information about the application access via iLinkRT, see chapter
5.4.4 on page 55 and the INCA-MCE User's Guide.
