ETAS Getting Started
5 Getting Started
This chapter describes the assembly, cabling and configuration for the ES910.3-
A.
5.1 Transferring Dissipated Heat
5.1.1 Ventilation of the Module
The housing of the ES910.3-A absorbs the heat generated inside the module due
to dissipation power and disperses it via its surface.
The module requires additional ventilation with an internal fan and ventilation
slits on the side to prevent the ES910.3-A from overheating during operation,
increase the safety and reliability of the module and extend its useful life.
5.1.2 Monitoring the Temperature
The temperature in the housing of the ES910.3-A is constantly measured and
monitored; operational ranges are indicated on the front of the module via the
°C indicator.
If the °C indicator flashes, the air circulation and thus the heat transfer of the
module must be improved without delay. To ensure safe operation of the
ES910.3-A, you can, for example, reduce the ambient temperature.
If the temperature inside the ES910.3-A continues to rise, the module powers off
automatically and the °C indicator is lit until the normal operating temperature is
reached inside the housing. This protects the electronics of the module from
being irreversibly damaged due to overheating.
5.2 Setup
5.2.1 Requirements for Setting Up an ES910.3-A Module
You must adhere to important requirements when setting up and operating the
ES910.3-A to ensure efficient exchange of heat with the environment and avoid
heat concentration:
Place the ES910.3-A module on a smooth, flat surface.
Do not stand the ES910.3-A module on its long sides.
Indicator Display Operational State
°C Red
(Flash code 3)
Temperature inside the housing has
exceeded a critical level,
model is stopped, ES910.3-A is in
standby
Red Temperature inside the housing has
exceeded the critical level,
model is stopped,
Red
(Flash code 2)
Temperature inside the housing has
reached a critical level.
Off Temperature inside the housing is in nor-
mal operational range.
