ES910.3-A - User’s Guide 32
ETAS Functional Description
4.9.1 Operating Modes
Each of the two LIN interfaces can be configured in the calibration software
either as a LIN master or as a LIN slave. Switching between the two operating
modes is controlled by the software and can be selected separately for every
interface.
4.9.2 Feature
You can find a list of LIN applications supported by the ES910.3-A in chapter
7.6.2 on page 78.
The LIN nodes of the ES910.3-A can send and receive LIN messages for Rapid
Prototyping applications. Functionalities for diagnostics as well as for measuring
and calibration are not supported by the LIN interfaces of the ES910.3-A.
4.9.3 Power Supply on the Bus
The LIN nodes of the ES910.3-A can either be powered externally by the LIN bus
or internally by the module. The type of power supply must be configured in the
web interface of the ES910.3-A (see chapter 5.6 on page 60).
Fig. 4-7 Power Supply at the LIN Bus
To adhere to the reference level (and thus identical thresholds) at the individual
nodes of the LIN bus, the LIN transceivers (physical layer) of all bus nodes should
be powered with the same voltage. It is recommended that you power off the
internal power supplies and operate all nodes of the LIN bus with the external
voltage which also powers the other bus users (LIN_UBATT, see Fig. 4-7
on page 32).
If there is no access or no possibility to use the LIN_UBATT voltage as reference
and supply voltage, the LIN transceivers of the LIN node of the ES910.3-A must
be powered by a connectable internal power source of the module. This internal
supply voltage is not routed out via the CAN1/LIN1 or CAN2/LIN2 connectors.
The ES910.3-A is not designed to power external nodes at the LIN bus.
Internal pull-up resistances can be connected to the LIN interfaces of the
ES910.3-A as master resistances. The connection of the master resistance of the
LIN interface can be configured in the web interface of the ES910.3-A.
4.10 ETK Interface (ETK)
The ES910.3-A has one ETK interface which is routed to a 4-pin ETK connector
(Lemo socket) on the front panel. The interface is galvanically isolated from the
other interfaces of the ES910.3-A.
