8 Raise the INPUT fader of Ihs electric guitar Channel 1 to TV check the laval on tha
meter T, and uae the INPUT fader and equalizer to craata a desirable tonal color and

9 To monitor the guitar sound, turn the Chennai 3 MON knob to "TRK 3** and slowly turn
the MASTER knob In the monitor aectlon.

Practicing overdubbing _ _ _
Now. wc arc going to play back the drum sound on Track 1 and the electric bass
sound on Track 2, and monitor the sound in conjunction with the electric guitar
sound.
11 Prats tha PLAY button to start ths recorder. {The RECORD LED w* continue to blink)
12 Turn tha Channel 1 MON knob to TRK 1* to adjust the level of tha Track 1 playback
(drum machine - playback monitor sound), turn the Channel 2 MON knob to TRK 2” to
adjust tha laval of Track 2 playback (alactrlc bass - playback monitor sound), and use
tha MON PAN knob to adjust tha monitoring stereo image.
Play the electric guitar while listening to the drum machme sound on Track I and the
electric bass sound on Track 2.
You can listen to both the drum machine and electric bass sound (playback monitor), and
the electric guitar sound ^inpuf monitor ) at the same time. Use the MON knob and MON
PAN knob of Channels 1-3 to balance the sounds.
Since the guitar sound has not been recorded yet, you can practice your performance
with these settings as many rimes as you like.
Start / Hop recording
If you arc satisfied with your rehearsal, start recording.
13 Prasa tha REWIND button wMa holding down the STOP button to locate tha ABS 0
point (start point oi the recorder)
14 Pres* tha RECORD button white holding down tha PLAY button.
The drum machine sound on Track 1 and the electric hats sound on Track 2 will be
played bad t with the monitor balance setting specified In the previous step- Play the
electric guitar to overdub the guitar sound on Track 3.
15 Whan tha recording it completed, praaa the STOP button to atop recording.
The RECORD LED goes off. and Tracks 1-3 enter playback monitoring status.
Playback
1. Prase the REWIND button while holding down tha STOP button.
2. To prevent accidental recording, set the RECORD TRACK twitch "3/L" to “OFF."
3. Set the INPUT SEL ewltchee lor Channel* 1-3 to “OFF.”
4. Praaa the PLAY button to alert playback.
5. Turn the MON knobs lor Channels 1-3 to *mr and turn the MASTER knob In the monitor
aectlon little by llttfe.
& Ad|uet the stereo image of the playback monitor using the MON PAN knob* tor Channels
1-3.
