2. MIDI Clock synchronization system
In this section, we will learn how to insert a time signature at any location of the
vong and set the tempo using the internal Program Tempo Map, In order to
synchronize an external stand-alone MTDI sequencer to the MIDI Qock as a slave
machine.

Connecting an external device
1 Connect the DMT-Bwi MIDI OUT connector to the MIDI IN connector on the MIDI sequencer.
2 Set the MIDI sequencer to "MIDI Clock Sieve mode’ and connect the MIDI sound source
that plays sequence date to the INPUT Jack of the DMT-eve.
This MIDI sound source niJI not be retarded (it mil only be ptoyed hack, synchronizing to
a MIDI sequencer). Set the mixer to that you can monitor the sound.
3 Connect the effect unit if necessary.

MIDI SYNC OUT settings
1. Set ’MIDI SYNC OUT In Setup mode to "MlOt Clock (CtocK) OUT.”

Creating a Tempo Map

1 Set ■ time signature for each measure using ths "BAR " parameter In Setup mode.
Then. Art the tempo for each ber/beu location using the "TEMPO* parameter in Setup
mode.

2 Run the DMT-hn. In record mode to confirm that the MIDI sequencer will synchronize to
the Tempo Map. (You do not need to record any particular sound because this step just
makes an already-recorded <Ssk area.) (ft data has already bean recorded up to the end
point of the song, just play back tha DMT-*i_) Set the Time Base to "BAR/ /CUT to
check whether tha playback position on the MIOI sequencer matches that on the DMT-Bn_
Overdubbing
1 Overdub performance date to Tracks 1-8 while accompanying the synchronizing MIDI
source output (as If the source was data already recorded on the track). Alternatlvaly.
