3.2 Configuring Settings
56
In averaging operation, the number of averaging iterations for measured values is set, and averaged data is
displayed. Used when measured values fluctuate, causing excessive variation in the display, this setting pro-
vides a way to reduce variation in display values.
The instrument uses simple averaging to average measured values. The display update interval varies with
the number of averaging iterations setting.

Parameters that are averaged
The five parameters of voltage, current, active power, apparent power, and reactive power are averaged,
while the power factor and phase angle are calculated form averaged data.
Parameters that are not averaged
Voltage frequency, current frequency, current integration, active power integration, integration time, voltage
waveform peak value, current waveform peak value, voltage crest factor, current crest factor, time average
current, time average active power, voltage ripple rate, current ripple rate, maximum current ratio, all har-
monic measurement parameters
3.2.7 Displaying Measured Values as an Average
(AVG: Averaging)
Xk: Measured value every 200 ms (instrument display update rate)
n: Number of averaging iterations
Average value =
Number of averaging iterations 1 (OFF) 2 5 10 25 50 100
Display update interval 200 msec. 400 msec. 1 sec. 2 sec. 5 sec. 10 sec. 20 sec.
2 Press to switch to the timeout
settings screen. ([AvG.] will be dis-
played in display area
d.)
3 Press or until the display area
d flashes.
4 Press or to set the number
of averaging iterations.
When the setting is changed to a value other than the
default setting of 1, the AVG lamp will light up.
