5. Dispose of the used ThinPrep Pap test filter cylinder using appropriate laboratory procedures. A
ThinPrep Pap test filter must be used only once and cannot be reused.
6. Remove the PreservCyt sample vial from the instrument and recap it firmly. Be sure to line up the
torque line on the cap with the torque line on the vial. Refer to Figure 5A-13.

7. Do not discard the sample vial until it has been determined that no additional slides are needed.
Refer to Chapter 3, “PreservCyt Solution”, for information regarding solution disposal and sam-
ple storage.
