From the Insert Remote Route Entry panel, add route entries for the intermediate or remote
site. The Insert Remote Route Entry panel is displayed by specifying r for AC in the Entire
Route Information panel.

4. Establish an inter-control unit logical path (Primary -> Intermediate).
Establishing an inter-control unit logical path is part of creating the path set definition file.
5. Register a command device for the forward direction in the storage systems of the primary
and intermediate sites.
This creates the command device definition file.
For details on how to register a command device in a storage system, see “Registering a
command device in a Storage System” (page 470).
6. Perform a remote scan on the storage system of the intermediate site.
