9. In the next window, you must select one FlashCopy preset along with their customization
options. The GUI provides the following presets to simplify common FlashCopy
operations, as shown in Figure 10-47 on page 537:
– Snapshot: Creates a copy-on-write point-in-time copy.
– Clone: Creates an exact replica of the source volume on a target volume. The copy can
be changed without affecting the original volume.
– Backup: Creates a FlashCopy mapping that can be used to recover data or objects if
the system experiences data loss. These backups can be copied multiple times from
the source and target volumes.
Important: The source and target volumes must be of equal size. Therefore, only the
targets with the appropriate size are shown for a source volume.
