The tasks in this section describe verifying the replication connections for VTL and
OpenStorage installations. It als describes, for OpenStorage installations with
Feature Code 3456 installed only, the customer host network connections in a
stand-alone TS7650 Appliance.
Replication connections for a VTL configuration:
This task describes the replication Ethernet connections used in a TS7650 Appliance
with the VTL option.
About this task
Note: Connection of the replication Ethernet cables is required only if the customer
wants to later enable the data replication feature.

Procedure
Perform the following steps to make or verify connections for a stand-alone TS7650
Appliance server configured to use VTL for replication.
1. Label and connect Ethernet cables (Cat 5e or higher) according to Table 12.
Notes:
v Cat 5e or higher cable is required for all Ethernet connections.
v Be sure to route all cables through the cable management arms and secure
with straps.
2. Go to “Fibre Channel connections” on page 36.
