Procedure
Perform the following steps to make or verify Ethernet connections in a VTL
environment.
1. Connect the Ethernet cables to the customer network. See Figure 30 on page 51
and Table 21 on page 51 for more information.
2. If the customer has an existing TSSC and network switch, cable them according
to Figure 30 on page 51 and Table 21 on page 51.
3. Use Figure 30 on page 51 to verify the Ethernet connections made in
manufacturing.
4. Make any necessary adjustments to cable placement or labeling, then go to
“Ethernet connections” on page 50 to complete the Ethernet cabling.
1-Gb Ethernet switch connections in an OpenStorage configuration:
This task shows the Ethernet cabling for the 1-Gb Ethernet switches in a clustered
TS7650 Appliance for OpenStorage configuration.
About this task
Note: Depending upon the models of the hardware being used, the port layout
might differ from the graphics in this section. If so, label the cables according to
the port number assignments specified in the accompanying tables, regardless of
the position of the ports on the TSSC or the switch.
