v Be sure to route all cables through the cable management arms and secure with
straps.
v Connection of the replication network cables is required only if the customer is
enabling the data replication feature.
Perform the following steps to make or verify Ethernet connections for replication
and for Feature Code 3456 customer host network support in a stand-alone
appliance.
1. Label and connect Ethernet cables (Cat 5e or higher) for customer host network
connections in OpenStorage configurations with Feature Code 3456 installed
according to Figure 18 on page 34 and Table 13 on page 34.
2. For replication connections, perform one of the following:
v For OpenStorage installations with Feature Code 3456 installed, label and
connect Ethernet cables according to Figure 19 on page 35 and Table 14 on
page 35.
v For OpenStorage installations with Feature Code 3457 installed, label and
connect Ethernet cables according to Figure 20 on page 35 and Table 15 on
page 35.
3. Go to “Fibre Channel connections.”

The tasks in this section describe the network Fibre Channel connections used
between the disk controller and the TS7650 Appliance server in a stand-alone
configuration.
Important: All Fibre Channel connections, except for connections to the customer host
network, were completed in manufacturing.

This topic describes the configuration of Fibre Channel connections between the
disk controller and the ProtecTIER server, and between the server and the host, for
stand-alone VTL two-drawer, four-drawer, and eight-drawer storage configurations.
