Checking the Hydraulic Oil Level
!MWARNING
Fluid Under Pressure
Fine jets of fluid at high pressure can penetrate the
skin. Keep face and hands well clear of fluid under
pressure and wear protective glasses. Hold a piece of
cardboard close to suspected leaks and then inspect
the cardboard for signs of fluid. If fluid penetrates your
skin, get medical help immediately.

1 Lower the lift arm and fully crowd the shovel/
attachment as shown at X. Stop the engine.

2 Look at the oil level in the sight glass A. The level
should be at the mark on the sight glass.
!MCAUTION
If the fluid is cloudy, then water or air has
contaminated the system. This could damage the
hydraulic pump. Contact your JCB Distributor
immediately.

3 If more oil is needed, wait for five minutes, open the
engine compartment top cover.
4 Top up the hydraulic tank through filler cap B with
engine oil. K
