Changing the Oil and Filter

!MWARNING
Oil
Oil is toxic. If you swallow any oil, do not induce
vomiting, seek medical advice. Used engine oil
contains harmful contaminants which can cause skin
cancer. Do not handle used engine oil more than
necessary. Always use barrier cream or wear gloves to
prevent skin contact. Wash skin contaminated with oil
thoroughly in warm soapy water. Do not use petrol,
diesel fuel or paraffin to clean your skin.

Drain the oil when the engine is warm as contaminants
held in suspension will then be drained with the oil.
1 Park the machine on level ground and lower the
attachments to the ground.
2 Stop the engine and remove the starter key.
3 Open the engine compartment top cover. K

!MWARNING
Make the machine safe before getting beneath it. Park
the machine on level ground and lower the
attachments. Stop the engine and remove the starter
key. Make sure the park brake is engaged. Disconnect
the battery to prevent the engine being started. Block
all four wheels before getting under the machine.

4 Remove the access plate C at the back of the
machine to expose the drain plug.
5 Place a suitable container beneath the machine to
catch the oil.

!MCAUTION
It is illegal to pollute drains, sewers or the ground.
Clean up all spilt fluids and/or lubricants.
Used fluids and/or lubricants, filters and contaminated
materials must be disposed of in accordance with
local regulations. Use authorised waste disposal sites.

!MCAUTION
Oil will gush from the hole when the drain plug is
removed. Hot oil and engine components can burn
you. Keep to one side when you remove the plug.

Note: There are three drain plugs D located behind the
access plate. The engine oil drain is the one which is NOT
coloured (zinc plated).
6 Taking care to select the correct one of the three drain
plugs D, remove the plug to allow oil to flow into the
container.
7 After emptying the sump, replace the drain plug D and
refit the access plate C.
