Checking the Joystick Hydraulic Lines
If the machine does not respond to joystick movements,
check the hydraulic supply to and from the joystick as
follows:
!MWARNING
The start-up procedure requires the machine to be
disabled (wheels raised off the ground, work function
disconnected, etc.) while the procedure is carried out.
HYD-8-1
1 Raise and block the machine so that the wheels are
clear of the ground. Stop the engine. Make sure the
machine is stable.
2 Connect a 0 - 40 bar (0 - 600 lb/in
2
, 0 - 42 kg/cm
2
)
pressure gauge into test point X1 at the hydraulic
filter.
3 Start the engine and observe the gauge reading
which should show the transmission pump charge
pressure (K
General Data ( T E-1)).
4 If the gauge shows no or little pressure it could
indicate a fault in the charge pressure relief valve in
the hydrostatic pump or the pressure reducing
solenoid valve.
5 If the supply pressure is correct, check the feed hose
to the joystick for blockage.
6 Remove the seat and floorplate to access the servo
feed line connections 1 to 4.
7 Insert a tee piece and 0 - 40 bar (0 - 600 lb/in
2
, 0 - 42
kg/cm
2
) pressure gauge into each servo feed line in
turn, as shown at B.
8 Start the engine and move the joystick lever fully in
the appropriate direction to pressurise the relevant
hose. The joystick positions shown are for single
lever operation.
9 The pressure gauge should show transmission pump
charge pressure with full joystick travel (K
General
Data ( T E-1)
10 If any readings are not correct, check the hoses for
blockage. If the hoses are clear the joystick should be
dismantled for repair.
