The final drive to the wheels is by chains. A chain casing
on the right side of the machine houses four chains, two to
the front wheels and two to the rear wheels. The chains run
in an oil bath.
Checking the Oil Level
1 Park the machine on level ground.
2 Stop the engine.
3 On the right side of the machine, remove level plug A
and its washer. Check that the oil level is up to the
bottom of the hole.
4 If necessary, top up through the plug hole using the
recommended oil. K
Fluids, Lubricants and
Capacities ( T 3-12). Wipe up any oil spillage.
5 Clean plug A, its washer and hole before refitting.
Changing the Oil
1 Park the machine on level ground.
2 Stop the engine.
3 On the right side of the machine, remove level plug A
and its washer.
4 Place a suitable receptacle under drain plug B to
collect the oil.
5 Remove plug B with its washer and completely drain
the chain casing.
6 Clean plug B, its washer and its hole. Renew the
sealing washer if necessary.
7 Refit plug B.
8 Fill the chain casing via level hole A, until the oil is
level with the bottom of the hole, using the
recommended oil. K
Fluids, Lubricants and
Capacities ( T 3-12). Wipe up any oil spillage.
9 Clean plug A, its washer and its hole before refitting.
