Transmission Pumps
Removal and Replacement
Removal
Remove the seat plate and pump cover.

Drain the hydraulic tank. Access to the hydraulic tank drain
plug is through the chassis blanking plate X. Remove the
blanking plate and place a suitable container beneath the
machine to catch the oil.
Note: There are three drain plugs located behind the
blanking plate. The hydraulic oil drain is coloured black.
Label all hose connections to enable correct refitting.
Disconnect the hoses and plug exposed connections.
Sling the pump unit using suitable lifting tackle.
Remove bolts E and ease the unit away from the engine

Fig 60. ( T E-69). Once the pump coupling has
separated from the engine, the unit can be lifted clear.
Replacement
Using suitable lifting tackle, ease the pump unit into
position, making sure that the pump/engine coupling
engages smoothly and completely (See Pump/Engine
Coupling (X E-70)).
Coat threads of flange bolts E with JCB Threadlocker and
Sealer, fit and tighten to correct torque setting K Table 16.
Torque Settings ( T E-68).
Note: Refill the pumps with filtered, clean oil (see Fluids,
Lubricants and Capacities, Section 3) via the pump
outlets before finally tightening the outlet connections.
Refit and torque tighten the connections K

Refill the hydraulic tank.
Prime the system K
Start-Up Procedure ( T E-74).
Refit the pump cover, seat and seat plate.
