3.16.2 Comparison of Various Data Reporting Function
The comparison of DR, EDR and EPADR function is as follows.
DR EDR EPADR
Previously assigned channel and slot* X
Confirm acknowledgement X X
Re-sent report after reporting failure X
Request program/assignment from MES X
Maximum of data size 32 bytes 40 bytes 40 bytes
* If channel and slot does not previously assigned, packet collision may occur. As a result, there is a
possibility that data reporting is failed.
(1) DR communication sequence
The MES sends a data report to the LES and DR communication sequence is completed.
(2) EDR communication sequence
The MES sends a data report to the LES.
The LES sends an acknowledgement to the MES.
(a) When the MES receives the acknowledgement, the MES decides “call successful” of data report,
and EDR communication sequence is completed.
(b) When the MES does not receive the acknowledgement, the MES re-sends data report to the LES.
The MES retry to send data report until the MES receive the acknowledgement (maximum
number of retry is three).
