Information
It is recommended to execute a backup before updating the firmware to re-
store this version in case of problems. This backup must be executed by
the user.
Information
If a firmware update of the control is executed, all existing data on the flash
storage media will be overwritten.
To restore a backup or to update the firmware a service USB stick with the
image-file is needed. For further informations about creating a service USB
stick see online help of KeStudio U4.
To restore the backup or to update the firmware proceed as follows:
1) Plug the prepared service USB stick into the control.
2) Execute a restart of the control.
3) Press ENTER as soon as Init is displayed on the display of the control
to insert the service menu.
4) Select Restore and confirm with ENTER.
5) Select the desired image file on the USB stick.
6) Choose the desired network settings. Either the settings of the image file
(IP-Settings from Image) or the settings existing on the control (IP-
Settings from drive) can be used. If the configured network settings
are not valid this is shown on the display with IP-Settings no valid
IP-Add. Confirm with ENTER.
7) The restore process or the firmware update is executed and the
progress is shown on the display.
8) Unplug of the USB stick as soon as Restore Successful is shown on
the display.
9) Execute a restart of the control.
The backup has been restored or the firmware update has been executed.
If the backup also contained drive parameter sets, those must be loaded
from the CFast card to the respective drive. The control has to finish starting
up and it must be at operating mode STOP or RUN.
Proceed as follows:
1) Navigate to the menu of the desired drive via Menu- Drv[n] - Drive[n]
Menu D[n]-4 Service - D[n]-4 Service Restore Config
2) Select Restore Config local
3) Confirm with ENTER.
The set of parameters on the CFast card are loaded to the desired drive. Re-
peat this for further drives if necessary.
